Repassage is a professional term for preventive watch repair, which includes complete disassembly and assembly of the watch mechanism, cleaning, removal of old grease and applying a new one, if necessary, repair or replacement of damaged or worn parts and assemblies of the mechanism, as well as subsequent checking of the accuracy of the stroke. Mechanical watches that have not been in use are subject to cleaning, lubrication and regulation after one and a half years from the date of release by the manufacturer, the frequency of maintenance of the operated watches must be indicated in the watch passport
